The Hartnell College distance ace stepped into some elite company this weekend when she broke a 35-year-old school record in the women's 5,000 meter run.
Yet, it just wasn't any record that fell from the Panthers program.
Grover's time of 17:59.51 broke the mark held by former Olympic marathoner Maria Trujillo, who was recently inducted into the Salinas Valley Hall of Fame.
Having prepped at Salinas High, Grover also became the first Hartnell women to dip under the 18 minute barrier in the 5,000. She is currently ranked fourth in the nation in the 5,000.
Yet, is the 5,000 the best event for the freshman? Grover, who seems to get stronger the longer the distance, has yet to test her talents in the 10,000.
