King City-Carmel baseball

There is no such thing as a must win two games into the league season.
 A big game?
 How about important.
From a standpoint of confidence, today's game at Carmel is important for King City.
At some point, you have to beat a title contender to be lumped into the same sentence.
The reigning Mission Trail Athletic League champion Padres fit that mold, having gotten off to a 2-0 start in league play, and have outscored opponents 46-1 during a current four-game winning streak.
However, the Padres last league loss did come from King City last spring.
So there is incentive in each dugout.
The Padres, whose top five hitters from last year are all back, have won eight straight home games while King City is 1-4 in its last five MTAL road games dating back to last year.
