The former Carmel High three-sport standout and two-time Herald Male Athlete of the Year broke his hand fouling a pitch off it on March 7 against Chicago State.
Before getting hurt, Pearson was hitting .308 in the Bears first 14 games with two homers and 12 runs batted. Eight of his 16 hits have been for extra bases.
Pearson, who quarterbacked Carmel to its first Central Coast Section football title as a sophomore, was among the team leaders at Cal in runs scored and hit by pitches.
The junior also sports a perfect fielding percentage in the outfield. Pearson could be back in six weeks.
