If there is pressure to duplicate last year’s All-American season as a freshman, Annie Aldrete has shown no signs at the plate this year for nationally ranked Tennessee.
Coming off knee surgery, the sophomore catcher is hitting .377 for the 18-3 Vols with five home runs and 17 runs batted in over 21 games. Aldrete has scored 16 runs and has yet to commit an error behind the plate in 92 chances.
Last year Aldrete tore up SEC pitching, belting 19 homers with 65 RBI in 58 games for the Vols, hitting .361.
