There's a sense of believe more than hope for the Trojans.
Four consecutive league wins hasn't happened since 2008. Six straight overall wins has not occurred since the turn of the millennium.
Over the last 18 years, Alisal hasn't won six games in a season eight times.
Yet, a third of the way through the spring and Alisal has achieved both, having rattled off six straight wins. After an 0-2 start, the Trojans are 8-3 overall.
Alisal coach Graham Santiago continues to take small steps in developing his program, relying on pitching, defense and execution at the plate.
What the Trojans have been getting is solid pitching from Brian Navarro, Ruben Gomez and Yael Cruz.
The confidence is rising, as evident by Alisal coming back from a 3-0 deficit to post a 4-3 win in its last league game on a walk-off single from JC Maravillo.
Gomez has started to heat up at the plate along with Maravillo, Edgar Lopez and Sheldon Schreiber.
Alisal needs just two more wins to match last year's entire league total.
