Alex Pingree has been a bright spot in a somber season for the UC Santa Barbara softball team, sporting a 4-4 record in 10 starts. The team is 5-15 when the junior isn’t in the circle.
The right-hander sports a 4.77 earned run average with 22 strikeouts in 19 innings of work. Pingree is one win away from matching last year’s entire win total. As a freshman, she won eight games.Pingree guided Santa Catalina to the programs first and only Central Coast Section title in 2012, earning The Herald’s Player of the Year in softball.
