CCS Division IV playoffs
Thursday's game
No. 12 Pacific Grove (19-6) at No. 5 Half Moon Bay (19-7), 7 p.m.
Runner ups in the Peninsula North Division, the Cougars are 10-1 at home this winter, with the one loss coming from league power Westmoor.
While a 1-2 Mission Trail Athletic League start cost Pacific Grove a shot at repeating as champions, it has rattled off 12 straight wins, beating Oceana 53-39 on Tuesday.
Half Moon Bay swept its season series with Oceana with wins by 39 and 32 points.
Two-time all-league forward Morgan Tomberlin led the league in 3-point goals. Point guard Addison Walling is one of three sophomores that start for the Cougars.
Jessica Matthews has put Pacific Grove on her back of late with three straight games of 10 or more points and rebounds. Teammate Allie Patton has been a demon on defense.
In fact, during the Breakers 12 game winning streak, they have held 11 opponents under 40 points
