Notre Dame girls hoops

 What a difference a year makes.
 Or a league.
 Last year the Spirits were 1-11 in the Gabilan Division and were moved to the Pacific Division.
 This winter Notre Dame won its 14th league title.
 And now the Spirits are chasing a fourth Central Coast Section title, seeded No. 2 in Division V.
 While arguments will be made for Notre Dame to move back into the Gabilan next season, this is where it belongs.
 Its enrollment is shrinking.
 Plus its top four scorers -- which make up 36 plus points a game -- are seniors, including the county's top 3-point scorer in Marisa Given and the county's leader in assists in Sarah Muzik.
 Still, the strength of this team is defense, anchored by rebounding machine Sarah Nino.
 Notre Dame is 15-0 when it holds an opponent under 38 points, 2-7 when doesn't.
 Only one other team in the Spirits bracket in Division V posted a .500 or better overall record.
