Jenna Garcia will look to become the first wrestler from Notre Dame to win a Central Coast Section girls wrestling title this weekend.
Wrestling at 128 pounds, Garcia is undefeated this year at 31-0, having defeated two defending state champions from higher weight classes, including the current No. 1 ranked wrestler in the state.
Garcia, one of two Notre Dame wrestlers, trains with Alvarez High.
Brooke Lacuate of Alvarez is ranked No. 1 at 111 pounds while teammate Alondra Paredes is No. 6 at 108 pounds
In all 50 wrestlers from Monterey County will compete today in the CCS championships at Oak Grove High in San Jose.
