Jayla Scholis

Jayla Scholis made her debut for the Cal women’s track team, reaching the finals in the 60 meter dash at the Husky Indoor Invitational in Seattle.
Scholis, who prepped at Seaside and set school records in the 100 and 200 at Monterey Peninsula College last spring, was second in her heat in the 60 and seventh in the finals in 7.58 seconds.
She also ran 25.12 in the 200 and ran a leg on Cal's 1,600 relay team.
The sophomore’s mark in the 60 is the fastest among Cal sprinters.
Scholis was a Central Coast Section champion in the 100 and 200 while at Seaside, placing in the Junior College state meet last spring for MPC in the 100, 200, 400 relay and 1,600 relay.
