No one is questioning or doubting Cristian Soratos any longer.
The former Salinas High and Hartnell College distance ace silenced critics with the race of his life last week, clocking 3:55.27 in running the fastest mile in the nation to date at the Husky Indoor Invitational in Seattle.A senior at Montana State, Soratos broke the unconverted school mile record by nearly two seconds, running the second fastest mile time in Big Sky Conference history.
Soratos had run a converted sub four-minute mile last month, but the mark was questioned because it was converted and it came at altitude.
A four time Athlete of the Week in the Big Sky Conference already this spring, Soratos has already qualified for the Big Sky Indoor championships in the mile, and 800 and 3,000 meter runs.
