The sequel.
Once again, someone will be alone in first place in the Mission Trail Athletic League after tonight's battle between the co-leading Breakers and reigning four-time champion Carmel.
The difference this time is there are only four games left after tonight's tipoff.
Pacific Grove's only setback in league play came at Carmel on Jan. 14.
A lot has changed since the first battle. For starters, the Padres fell from the unbeaten ranks last week at Stevenson.
Austria 6-foot-5 sophomore exchange student Erol Ersek has gotten comfortable in his role for the Breakers, becoming a compliment to sophomore sharpshooter Brad Sendell.
Of course, the Breakers still have to find a solution to containing Carmel double-double machine John Stivers, who is averaging over 18 points and 12 rebounds a game.
In the teams first battle, the Padres build as much as an 18 point lead, holding Pacific Grove to a season low 36 points.
