Monterey-Seaside boys soccer

Rivalry aside, these two programs have been evenly matched over the last seven years.
 How even?
How about 4-4-4. In the last four meetings, the scoring is 4-4.
Yet, the difference this season is both teams, who meet tonight at Seaside, are in contention in the Pacific Division, each sitting at 2-1-1 in league play.
Sergio Javier has helped get Seaside off to a sizzling start with a pair of hat tricks this season while Eric Sanchez has ignited the point of attack, leading the team in assists.
It's been a goal by committee approach this year for the Toreadores, who have four players with two goals. Stephen Crnkovic has been a rock in goal.
Monterey will have to mark Javier, who has more goals by himself than the Toreadores have on the season.
Five of the seven goals Monterey has given up this year have come in the second half. It is winless on the road this year at 0-3-3.
