Gabilan Division boys hoops

 A week into the Gabilan Division season and only two teams remain unbeaten.
 One of those teams has played just one game.
 Five teams in the Gabilan Division are capable of battling for supremacy each night.
 No one is likely going to go undefeated.
 So one loss isn't crippling.
 Yet, for Salinas, falling at home to Monte Vista after an 11-1 non-league season serves as a wake-up call.
 You have to protect your house if you're going to chase a title.
 Palma has looked balanced and polished in opening league play with wins by 18 and 30 points. Its bench has been superb.
 I still think Monterey can be a factor if it can get everyone on the court healthy at the same time.
 And Christopher isn't going to sneak up on anyone.
