Salinas-Soquel basketball

Last year's Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League champions have struggled out the gate at 1-3. Part of that has to do with the Knights losing their four leading scorers.
 Salinas was impressive in a season opening win with returners Laron Logwood and Nat Hunsdorfer providing a presence in the paint and Richard Torres knocking down jump shots.
 Expectations are a little higher this winter for the Cowboys, who are expected to be deeper in the backcourt to compliment an inside presence.
 These two teams have met five times over the last 10 years -- last meeting in 2012 -- with Salinas winning three of those games.
