Notre Dame-Pacific Grove girls hoops

 This game intrigues me.
 Some felt last year's season-opening win over Notre Dame set the tone for the Breakers, who went on to win their first MTAL title in 12 years.
 Three of Pacific Grove's five starters from last year's 18-win team are back, including all-leaguers Jessica Matthews and sophomore Allie Patton.
 Matthews is averaging nearly 13 points a game for the Breakers this winter while Patton has 21 rebounds in three games.
 After starting last year 1-3, the Spirits are 3-1 this fall with two scholarship-bound softball players leading the team in scoring in Marisa Given and Sarah Muzik.
 Given, who has 134 3-point goals over the past two years, has already knocked down 10 this winter for Notre Dame, averaging just under 15 points a game.
 Both teams play tenacious defense
