Leon, who prepped at Anzar High, became just the second Hartnell athlete to win a state cross country title, clocking the second fastest time in school history.
The sophomore lost just one race all season. Leon will be chasing Hartnell records this spring in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs in track.
Montana State is a member of the Big Sky Conference. Its roster includes former Panthers Austin Decker (North County High) and Cristian Soratos (Salinas).
