The North Salinas High grad and CSU-Monterey Bay volleyball standout added another honor to her mantel after being named to the Capital One Academic All-American first team for the second straight year.
Ashen was one of six athletes named to the first team. Only three athletes at CSUMB have ever earned the honor.
The 6-foot-2 senior finished her career No. 2 on the all-time kills list (1,278), No. 6 in blocks (164) and No. 7 in digs (917). Ashen is the only Otter to ever produce 500 or more kills in a single season, achieved in 2013.
