Alisal
Jessy Hurtado won't be overshadowed this winter for the Trojans.
The 6-foot-1 senior took a back seat last year when two talented transfers became eligible in time for league play.
But this season it's Hurtado's team. Despite his reduced role, he still averaged just under 14 points a game in Alisal's explosive attack last season.
Help comes on the perimeter from Darwin Ongy, who led the team in 3-point goals as a sophomore last year. Keep an eye on 6-4 sophomore center Angel Rodriguez in the paint.
And Alisal coach Jose Gil didn't bring up 6-2 freshman Steven Castro to watch.
Alisal was the highest scoring team in Monterey County last year. While it runs an up-tempo attack, it will have to be more tenacious on defense to make a run at league supremacy in the Pacific.
