Thoughts on CCS seeding meeting

Salinas deserved the No. 1 seed in Division I. It's played as well as any team in the section over the last six weeks.
It's possible and likely that Alvarez and San Benito will meet in the Division I semifinals in two weeks for the second straight year.
The Balers ended Alvarez's undefeated season last fall. But the Eagles beat them in overtime this fall.
It doesn't matter where you're seeded in the Open Division. All eight teams are talented, including Palma and its 9-1 record. At least it got a home game.
As for the consolation bracket in the Open Division,  it's meaningless this year.
I don't know how Monterey got seeded No. 5 in Division III at 8-2. Well I do. It's all based on points. But 8-2 and playing in an 'A' League doesn't make sense.
I like Pacific Grove's path to the Division IV finals for the second straight year. I think Carmel has its work cut out with Terra Nova possibly lurking as a second round opponent.
