Terra Nova-Carmel football

CCS Division IV semifinals
Saturday's game
No. 8 Terra Nova (5-6) at No. 4 Carmel (8-3), 1 p.m.
The Padres are in the semifinals for the fifth time in six years. They are 9-4 in the postseason with three final appearances and one section title in that span.
After being forced to play four previous semifinal games at another site, the CCS granted Carmel an actual home game after it agreed to put in more seats on the visitors side.
 Is it an edge?
Well it can't hurt, although two of Carmel's three losses this year have come on its sparkling brand new synthetic field.
Terra Nova's 5-6 record is extremely misleading. Two of its losses were by three points or less. Two other losses were to teams a combined 21-1.
This is a Tigers team that was 10-0 last year in the regular season and forced into the Open Division. This is a program that beat Salinas in Week 4, and blew out top seed King's Academy last week.
This is a team that will put the ball in the air 50 times. Quarterback Anthony Gordon has thrown for over 4,300 yards and 40 touchdowns. Jordan Genato has 93 catches for over 1,800 yards.
While Carmel likes to put it in the air as well, this would be a good game to unleash 215 sophomore tailback Covossay Windham, who has over 1,300 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.
The Tigers can't score if the offense is sitting on the sidelines. A shootout will not work for Carmel this week.
