CCS Division I playoffs
Friday's game
No. 6 Silver Creek (8-2) at No. 3 San Benito (6-4), 7 p.m.
The Balers' record is extremely misleading, having suffered two losses in the final seconds and one in overtime.
Yet, San Benito recovered, riding into the playoffs with a three-game winning streak that included a win over Gabilan Division co-champion Palma.
San Benito is 10-2 in the month of November over the past three years -- 5-1 in the playoffs.
This could be a redemption tour for the Balers, who could see Alvarez and Salinas in their path to a potential third straight Division I finals appearance.
Silver Creek finished in a tie for third in the Santa Teresa Athletic League. Its two losses were by a combined four points to Westmont and Sobrato.
The Raiders' eight wins match their total from the previous two years combined. Five times this fall they produced 43 or more points.
