MTAL cross country

There appears to be little drama on the boys side with reigning league champion King City a threat to sweep the first five spots in the boys division.
The girls finals, however, paints a different picture as defending champion Pacific Grove finds Greenfield and Santa Catalina in its path in today's finals at Toro Park.
Greenfield is undefeated this year in the girls division behind junior distance ace Jocelyn Sosa, who has helped take this team to the last two State Division IV cross country finals.
The Bruins held off 2012 MTAL champion Santa Catalina last week in the final dual meet by three points.
Pacific Grove has two of the elite runners in the MTAL back in Michelle Watkins and Christina Hashimoto. Depth will be an issue for the defending champions.
The Mustangs have sparkled all year in the boys division, climbing to No. 2 in the State in Division IV behind defending MTAL champion and 2013 state qualifier Edgar Bonilla.
Depth, though, is King City's strength as Eduardo Orozco, Roman Munoz, Ricardo Lizardi and William Ordaz have all run under 16:40 on Toro Park's 3.083 course.
