Gavilan-Hartnell football

Saturday's game
Gavilan (2-5) vs. Hartnell (6-1) at Rabobank, 6 p.m.
 After a 2-0 start, the Rams have dropped five straight, including their first four conference games.
 Gavilan averaged 63.5 points in its two wins, but has given up 43 or more points in each of its five losses.
 The Panthers are No. 3 in the state in scoring at 45.8 points a game.
 Last week Hartnell erupted for 28 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, rallying to beat MPC and keep its conference title hopes alive.
 Of quarterback Michael Turner's 18 touchdown passes, nine have gone to his brother Ronnie, who has five in his last two games.
 Sherrod Hawkes is on pace to become the fifth straight 1,000 yard rusher for Hartnell, having piled up 794 yards behind the all-local offensive line.
 Defensively, Robert Mosley has recorded 6 1/2 sacks while Nias Martin has six interceptions. Jose Martinez leads the Panthers in tackles.
