Saturday's game
Watsonville (2-5) at North County (4-3), 2 p.m.
You can make an argument that no coach has done a better job than first-year coach John Villa, who has resurrected the Condors program.
Winless last fall for just the second time in school history, Villa has stabilized a program that was enduring its seventh coach in eight years.
Six wins could get North County into the postseason, meaning it would have to win two of its final three games. Two of its final three are at home.
A running back by committee approach has seen four different players rush for touchdowns for the Condors, including Tony Villa, who is coming off an 85-yard rushing performance.
The Wildcatz are coming off a season high 37-point effort. What has been an Achilles heel for them has been the third quarter, where they have been outscored 58-7.
