It didn't deflate Salinas. It built character.
That was exhibited on Friday when the Cowboys knocked Monterey from the unbeaten ranks.
Salinas' non-league record means little right now as it sits 3-0 in the Gabilan Division.
The goal from the start was a league title.
Guess who is next?
The only team Salinas hasn't beaten in the last decade stands in its path towards a league title in Palma.
What a win for the Cowboys to build off of going into their Gabilan Division showdown, beating a 6-0 team with a late defensive stand.
This is a different Salinas squad than in past year's. It has more of a lunch pail attitude. There is no 'I' in this group.
And it knows how to win big games on the road.
