Dating back to last year, the Breakers are 9-1 on the road, with that one loss coming from state bound Sacred Heart Prep last fall in the Division IV finals.
There were few obstacles in last year's path to the finals. Pacific Grove has already had its character tested this fall, coming from behind in the second half to beat Monte Vista.
Big plays have occurred in different ways for the Breakers. Two weeks ago it was an 18-yard fumble return for a touchdown from James Donlon that set the tone.
This time it was an 84 yard kickoff return for six from Jason Leach that changed the complexion of the game against Monte Vista.
Leach's track speed makes him a threat each time he touches the ball. He also has an 80-yard run this year.
Yet, the makeup of this team is eerie similar to last year. You can't teach chemistry.
