David Fales

The Bears had no choice but to waive former Palma High and MPC quarterback David Fales, who is third on the depth chart.
With injuries depleting their offensive line and receiving core, they needed to clear roster spots to add depth at those positions for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
It is a risk, though, because Fales could be picked up by another NFL team.
If Fales goes unclaimed over the next 24 hours, the Bears can resigned him to their practice squad, which is believed to be their intend, being that only two quarterbacks remain on the roster.
Fales, San Jose State's all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns, had not practiced this week because of a sore right shoulder.

Would like Fales to go to the 49ers, but better chance for him to play in a few years backing Cutler versus Kap.Either way, he will find a spot on a development squad and is an injury away from being on a roster spot this year.

Fales should never be a starting QB in the NFL. So playing time shouldnt be a primary concern. However, there is no reason he cant be a NFL backup for many many years. With the addition of clausen the backup role in chi should be filled for awhile. Pretty sure clausen has a 1 year deal but if he is smart he will accept he will never be a starting QB and stay in the QB friendly system in Chi. And hope to get a chance if cutler ever gets hurt. For fales he should want to just go to a team with an old backup or lack of back up. Not sure what teams have on their practice squad but INDY BUF SD DAL CAR CHI NYG SF STL all look like decent landing spots for the chance to compete as a back up in future seasons. CHI obviously wants to keep him they had no other choice but to waive him though.
