Don't start licking your chops. Carmel will be fine.
Take away those two first half turnovers and the Padres are up 7-3 at the half over Palma instead of being down 10-7.
The defense, though, spent a long time on the field in the second half and it showed when Palma's front five began wearing them down.
If I had a concern for Carmel, it would be the health of quarterback Connor Marden and receiver William Kehoe.
Kehoe has been nursing a hamstring injury and was not a factor. Marden was helped off the field just before the half after injuring his ankle. While he played in the second half, he wasn't effective and only ran twice on designed runs.
Carmel has also got to clean up the special teams. You can't have three 10-yard or less punts. You're giving the opponents a short field.
