Alisal vs. North Salinas at Rabobank  Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
 This marks the official debuts of Alisal head coach Jim Lockwood and North Salinas head coach Darren Spence.
 Gutted by graduation after reaching the postseason last year, the Vikings are relying on a talented core of youth to get them through a transitional period.
 Lockwood, who spent four years coaching various levels at Alisal a decade ago, has brought an infusion of enthusiasm back to the program.
 Alisal either led or was tied in the first half in five of their eight losses last season. Both teams were very vanilla in last week's Salinas Jamboree. Both teams are still searching for an identity.
