Football Tour XIV

North County (0-10, 0-6)
Was it the new flat black helmets? Lets hope not because they're back.
Something went wrong last year for the Condors, who went winless for the first time since their inaugural season in 1978.
For the seventh time in eight years, North County has a new head coach in John Villa. Unlike his predecessors, this isn't on an interim basis.
"I plan on being here for a long time,'' Villa said.
That's a start in the right direction for a program, that next to Palma, has enjoyed more success than any other football program in the county over the past 35 years.
There will be a lot of new faces on the roster this year to go with a revamped system. It takes time to re-establish a foundation.
"What I do is more of a West Coast  Foundation with a mixture of formations,'' Villa said.
Coming with Villa is his son, Tony, who rushed for over 1,300 yards last year at Coalinga. Having quarterback Andrew Ducusin enables Jordan Graves to move to the outside.
North County was held to a touchdown or less in eight of its 10 games last year and was outscored 100-23 in the first quarter.
"We're much more disciplined this year,'' linebacker/fullback JP Garcia said. "Last year everyone only cared about themselves. We weren't discipline and we weren't a team.''
The last time North County went winless in a season, it followed up with a 10-0 regular season.
