Slow starts have become a tradition King City would like to eliminate. It opens the season Sept. 5, hosting Monte Vista Christian.
The Mustangs lost just two of their final eight games last year. One was a heart breaker to Pacific Grove, which they visit on Oct. 31. The other was to perennial MTAL power Carmel (Nov. 8).
