How about the season opener on Sept. 6 when the Spartans travel to face North County -- two teams looking to right the ship after going 0-10 last year.
Gonzales has its rivalry game six miles down Highway 101 with Soledad on Oct. 10, and will close the season in King City on Nov. 14 in the oldest rivalry game in Monterey County.
