Saturday morning thoughts

Two straight losses have dropped Pacific Grove into a tie for first in the MTAL in baseball with Carmel. That might keep them out of the Open Division playoffs.
 Palma three-peated in track and field, capturing the Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division team title. The Chieftains are the only team to win a boys Gabilan Division title.
 Alvarez continued its historic run in sports this season, capturing the girls first ever Pacific Division track and field team title.
 Palma followed up on its regular season volleyball title, claiming the MBL tournament title, beating Seaside in four games.
 Santa Catalina completed an undefeated swimming season as Allie Loomis won two events at the league finals to lead them to an MTAL team title.
 Brandon Kim won four events as Carmel gained a measure of redemption, beating Stevenson at the MTAL boys swimming finals.
 Stevenson sealed the MTAL regular season lacrosse title as Alec Negri scored six goals in a 17-3 win over Christopher.
