North County-Monterey softball

It's more than just a league title that's at stake tonight when these co-leaders meet at Jacks Park.
A playoff spot could also be on the line.
There is no guarantee that the runner-up in the MBL's Pacific Division will receive a playoff spot, as only the league champion is an automatic seed.
Based on Monterey and North County's identical 6-8 non-league records, the likelihood is only one team will get in.
Of course, the league title should be the priority.
The Toreadores have won their last five league games since being outslugged 11-9 by North County on April 11.
An 8-7 setback to Monte Vista on April 30 knocked the Condors from the unbeaten ranks.
Both teams have power at the plate as Amber Duplissie has ripped seven home runs while Monterey sophomore Gina Bruno has six bombs, while driving in 39 runs in 23 games.
I'd be surprised if Bruno sees a strike.
