MBL track

Keep an eye on Palma's Chase Pacheco and Monterey's James Welsh tonight as each attempts to win three individual events at the Monterey Bay League Gabilan and Pacific Division championships.
Pacheco, the CCS leader in the long jump at 23-6 1/2, will be the favorite, and has the top marks in the high jump and 100 meters.
Welsh, who took over the CCS lead in the 1,600 last week with a school record 4:15.31, won't have to push hard to win the 1,600 and 3,200, which should preserve energy for the 800.
While Palma is the heavy favorite to three-peat in the Gabilan Division, Monterey and Watsonville will likely go down to the final event in the Pacific Division.
Don't be surprised if Welsh is running a leg on the 1,600 relay.
