Lets squelch some rumors right now.
Current Hartnell College defensive backs coach Sunil Smith is not returning to Alisal.
The winningest coach in Alisal history has a desire to someday be a college head coach. He is staying at Hartnell.
And while neither has acknowledged this, former North Salinas coach Steven Zenk and Alisal coach Cory Costanza could be in line for the North County vacancy.
I'm just not sure either wants to get back into it this soon.
I'd be surprised if Alisal and North Salinas don't hire in house. Take former Gonzales and Salinas High head coach Mark Ironside's name out of the hat as well.
Just for the record, former Gonzales and Monterey head coach Pete Noble is staying retired.
There is one south county assistant coach that has expressed interest in the past in becoming a head coach.
