Gonzales-Stevenson softball

No team turned more eyes at the start of league play than Gonzales, who opened the year with three straight MTAL wins, including decisions over co-leading Carmel and reigning champ Santa Catalina.
But that was two weeks ago. The Spartans haven't had a game in 14 days. Will there be rust?
Can Gonzales pick up where it left off today when it visits co-leading Stevenson and remain a threat in the MTAL?
Gonzales is an unheralded cast anchored by pitcher Natalie Basaldua. Offensively, production has come from Melissa Mendoza, Ali Lombardi and Julianna Valdez.
The Pirates have regrouped after enduring a three game losing streak with two straight wins behind the efforts of pitcher Jensen Main and sluggers Dominique Seva'aetasi and Puava Tulau.
Stevenson has shown off its power at the plate this spring with 10 home runs. The Pirates are 5-1 when they hit a home run.
