While the reigning two-time Central Coast Section Division III champion Breakers 4-0 start isn't a surprise, Carmel's blistering start is.
The Padres did it with pitching in their first four league wins as Dylan Larson tossed a no-hitter. But the bats have warmed up of late, having scored 19 runs in the last two games.
Andres Enriquez and Lennie Rodriguez has stung the ball at the plate.
Having won 26 straight MTAL games, the Breakers have relied on pitching, winning three games by two runs or less.
UC Santa Barbara bound Chris Clements had 13 strikeouts in his last outing, and added a pair of doubles in Pacific Grove's last win.
The Breakers also welcomed back fleet outfielder Dylan Chesney to the lineup after he missed the first five games with an injury.
