Seaside-Mendota baseball

If Seaside's opponent for Saturday's doubleheader sounds familiar, that's because Mendota was featured on ESPN for its football team overcoming outside obstacles and raising the spirits of a community by reaching the section championship game.
Its baseball team isn't bad either, jumping out to a 5-2 start this spring.
Seaside is still looking for its first win, having given up 29 runs in two losses and a tie.
It's also a roster with just two seniors, only one of which started last year in CJ Oliveras.
Four freshmen and six sophomores help make up the Spartans, who stole seven bases in their last game.
