Ten of the 12 teams in the Central Coast Section boys basketball divisional finals are private schools.
Eight of the 12 girls teams in the finals are private schools. And that's misleading because Division I didn't have any private schools.
A coincidence?
Is it a fair playing field?
Sour grapes?
Can it be fixed it?
Sure it can. Divide the divisions into private and public schools. Three divisions each. It equals six, just like you have now.
There's just one problem.
It makes sense.
The CIF will never agree to it.

Interestingly here in Virginia all high school sports are divided among the public and the privates. Even at the state championship level. Private schools play their league seasons and post-seasons against other private schools. Public schools against public schools.
