Harbor-Monterey softball

Early indications are that the Toreadores are going to put up a lot of runs this year.
In two games, Monterey softball has produced 22 runs to jump out to a 2-0 start.
Holdover Jessica Sturgell has sizzled at the plate in her first two games while Jordan Summers, Daniella Burnam and Ashley Brady have also swung hot bats.
Harbor gave up 12 runs in its opener.
Yet, for as hot as Monterey's bats have been, it has needed nearly every run, having allowed 16 runs in its first two games.
So will Monterey have to out-slug teams to pursue a Pacific Division title?
If the Toreadores can progress defensively, their absence from the postseason last year could be brief.
