Former Stevenson slugger Nick Halamandaris has raised his average to .280 at Cal with one homer and eight runs batted in.
Halamandaris is tied for the team lead in hits (21) and doubles (5). The sophomore has handed 193 of 195 chances at first base.
The left-handed Halamandaris was drafted in the eighth round in 2012 by the Seattle Mariners.
Teammate Devin Pearson has started all 22 games in center field for Cal, leading the team in stolen bases (6), hit by pitches (9) and runs scored 11.
Pearson, a two-time Herald Athlete of the Year at Carmel, was drafted in the 30th round in 2012 by Toronto.
