Friday's game
San Benito (3-4) at Seaside (4-3)
Both of these teams are coming off their best efforts of the year, albeit a week a part.
Seaside dominated both sides of the ball in a 34-5 win over Salinas two weeks ago while the Balers erupted for a season high 48 points in routing Monte Vista last week.
November is the time of year when you want to be playing your best football. Both of these teams are playoff caliber programs with section titles over the last three years.
Switching quarterbacks two weeks ago seemed to ignite the Spartans as Lorenzo Johnson tossed a pair of touchdown passes and helped give the ground game a little juice.
Three receivers have 20 or more catches for Seaside, including 6-4 Ronnie Turner, who is averaging 20 yards a reception.
Seaside, which has struggled in stopping the run, held Salinas to 122 yards two weeks ago. San Benito is going to come right at you, having rushed for over 300 yards last week.
While the Spartans big play potential is scary, controlling the clock offensively with short routes will keep their defense much fresher.
