Winning or sharing a league volleyball title does have its perks, as long as you get into the playoffs.
Carmel, King City and Santa Catalina will all host Division IV volleyball matches on Wednesday, even though the Mustangs and Padres are seeded lower.
League champions get one home match.
That wasn't the case, however, for MBL Pacific Division co-champion Alvarez, who was snuffed from the Division I playoffs all together because to many teams were in the Division I bracket.
It came down to a vote.
While Pacific Division co-champion Monte Vista -- who Alvarez beat five days ago - got into the Division IV playoffs, Alvarez was left out.
