Saturday's game
Monterey Peninsula (2-4) at West Valley (1-5), 6:30 p.m.
The Lobos have certainly had a flair for the dramatic in both of their wins, rallying from 17 down to beat Gavilan last week by a point, and holding off Reedley 44-41 on Oct 5.
The bottom line is MPC has won two of its past three and is undefeated in the Coast Conference.
One note of interest: The Lobos are undefeated when quarterback Andrew Loudenback doesn't throw an interception.
In MPC's two wins, Loudenback has tossed seven touchdown passes -- just four in the four losses.
No doubt, a running game helps and last week Joshua Ross ran for a season-high 83 yards.
The MPC defense, anchored by Rufino Calderon and James Karasek, allowed just 12 points in the second half last week.
West Valley gave up a season-high 51 points in a conference opening loss to Hartnell. It has been shutout twice and has scored just 55 points all season
