Palma football

I wouldn't start writing Palma's eulogy just yet after it was beaten 20-10 by Carmel.
But the Chieftains road towards a 30th consecutive playoff appearance isn't going to get any easier.
Next up for Palma is St. Francis of Mountain View, followed by public power Palo Alto and then St. Joseph of Santa Maria, who beat them last year.
Of course, we have been down this road before.
Last year people were ready to write off Palma after it was beaten by Seaside.
That being said, Palma has got to find another option besides Brandon Olivares. I don't know of any running back that gets 38 carries a game, holding up over a 10 game season.

Palma is going to have a tough road going forward. Won't be surprise that they will be 1-3 going into league or 0-4. The schedule should help for league, but wouldn't be surprised if they see Carmel again in D4 playoffs. Carmel won't be tested untill Christopher, but to early to tell how good Carmel as compared to prior good teams. Palma looks as down as they have been over the last 20+ years. They have an upside toi improve, but definately not an Open division caliber team
