Monterey awarded forfeit

So now what?
With Gridley forfeiting its game on Friday, the Toreadores are scrambling for a scrimmage.
 Monterey coach Tom Newton called the news late Monday disastrous.
 Some teams will have played two games before the Toreadores get one in the books.
 There are four teams in the area that don't play this week. So it is possible that Monterey will at least get in a scrimmage.
 Still, that's not the same as a game.
 No reason was given for the decision to forfeit it's game. Monterey was suppose to make the four hour drive north.
Gridley opened its season last week, falling 28-6 to Willows for its 12th straight loss dating back to 2011.
 Last year Monterey beat them 49-0 at home.
