Lopsided season openers are nothing new for Monte Vista Christian, who has outscored its last three season opening opponents 169-0, beating Del Mar 42-0 last week.
If anything, it was a confidence builder for a program that was gutted by graduation, and forced into the MBL's Gabilan Division this fall.
The 47 points the Breakers produced in beating Watsonville last week was not as much of a surprise as it was seeing their defense pitch a shutout through three quarters.
Remember, this unit gave up 103 points in their last two games of 2012.
