The Mustangs have dropped three straight season openers, having given up 62 points to Soquel in last year's opener.
Soquel did lose over 3,200 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns to graduation, with 2,500 yards and 48 touchdowns coming from one player.
King City has two dynamic receivers in 6-foot-3 junior Dominic Rose and senior DeAndre Sharif, who had four touchdowns of 35 yards or longer last fall.
Rose drew double teams in 7-on-7 passing camps over the summer. But has King City decided on a starting quarterback? Either way, Rose believes there's chemistry with both.
After giving up 151 points in three of their first four games, the Mustangs allowed just 102 in their final six games.
